Windscreen PPF — What to Know Before You Book
Yes. Windscreen PPF is a film engineered specifically for glass surfaces. It is not the same material used on body panels. There is no effect on your OBU or ERP 2.0 signal.
It significantly reduces the likelihood of a chip penetrating the glass. The film absorbs and disperses the impact energy of typical road debris. Very high-velocity impacts at close range can still cause damage — no film eliminates all risk. What it does is take the majority of everyday expressway debris before it reaches the glass.
We only use high HD windshield PPF, a correctly fitted windscreen PPF has zero optical distortion. You should not be aware it is there. If any distortion is present, the installation is not complete.
Window tinting reduces light and heat transmission. Windscreen PPF protects against physical impact. Different purposes. They can be installed together — tinting handles the thermal and UV side, PPF handles the physical impact side.
