FAQs
About Paint Protection Film (PPF)
PPF is a transparent or coloured polyurethane film designed to protect your vehicle against:
- Stone chips
- Road debris
- Light scratches
- Swirl marks
- UV damage
Yes, and for a lot of owners that is the sensible spend. The bonnet, front bumper, mirrors and the front edge of the doors take the most stone chips. Covering just those costs a lot less than doing the whole car. We will tell you straight whether your car and the way you drive need full cover or just the front. Send us your car model on WhatsApp and we will point you the right way.
A good film, put on properly and looked after, lasts around 5 to 10 years before it starts to show its age. Singapore's weather is hard on it, so a bit of care goes a long way. Hold off on the first wash for about a week so it sets, stay away from the brush-type car washes, and it will hold up well. We will run you through how to look after it before you drive off.
Self-healing PPF uses advanced top coatings that allow light swirl marks and fine scratches to disappear when exposed to heat from sunlight or warm water.
FAQs
About Window Tint and Solar Film
There are rules and they are strict. Your front windscreen and front side windows have to let at least 70% of light through, counting the glass and film together. The rear windscreen and back windows have to let at least 25% through. No mirror-style reflective film. If a shop offers to make your windscreen darker than that, they are setting you up to fail your inspection. We only fit films that keep you legal and ready to pass.
People mix these up all the time, and some shops use that to confuse you. How dark a film looks and how much heat it blocks are two separate things. A film can be light and still block a lot of heat, or be dark and block almost none. There is also UV, the rays that fade your interior and are bad for your skin, and good film stops nearly all of it. The short version: dark does not mean cool. When you compare film, ask how much heat it stops, not just how dark it goes.
Because the tint is not air-con. It cuts down how much heat builds up inside, but it cannot pull the heat out of a car that has been sitting in the sun for hours. Cheap film barely stops any heat at all, which is why some people feel no difference after paying for it. What matters is how much heat the film actually blocks, not how dark it looks. We will show you exactly what the film we fit can do before you commit.
It should not, when it is done right. The rule is that the film on your windscreen cannot block the signal between the ERP unit in your car and the gantries. We use nano ceramic film on the windscreen, which has no metal in it and does not block the signal. The older metal-based films are the ones that cause trouble, which is why the film you pick for the windscreen matters.
FAQs
About Vinyl Wrap and Colour Change
Both change the colour, but they are not the same choice. A wrap is a film laid over your existing paint, so you can peel it off later and your original colour is still underneath. That makes it reversible, which helps at resale if you ever want to go back to standard.
A respray is permanent, the new colour becomes the paint itself. Either way, in Singapore you are meant to update your car's colour with LTA online through the OneMotoring portal. It is free, takes a few minutes, and applies to a wrap or a respray. A wrap also opens up finishes like matte and satin, though note that LTA does not allow chrome or mirror-style finishes here. A respray can make more sense if the paint underneath is already in bad shape. We will look at your paint condition and tell you which one fits what you want.
In Singapore’s heat and humidity, a quality vinyl wrap typically lasts around 3 years, depending on the film, parking conditions and maintenance. Cars parked outdoors under direct sun will naturally age faster, while sheltered parking and proper hand washing can help extend the wrap’s lifespan.
Matte and satin finishes may also show signs of wear sooner than gloss finishes. Before you choose a film, we’ll be upfront about what you can realistically expect based on how and where your car is used.
In most cases, yes. If the car still has its original factory paint and the paintwork is in good condition, a properly removed wrap should come off cleanly.
The risk is higher on cars that have been resprayed, repaired, or have peeling paint or clear coat, as the film may lift weakened paint during removal. That’s why we inspect the paintwork before installation and let you know upfront if we spot anything that could affect removal later.
Know the condition before we wrap it. No surprises when it comes off.
Light scuffs may sometimes be cleaned up or improved without replacing the film. For deeper scratches, cuts or tears, we can usually replace just the affected panel rather than rewrap the entire car.
Because vinyl wrap offers only minimal protection, deeper damage can still reach the paint underneath. Bring the car in and we’ll assess whether it needs a simple touch-up or a panel replacement.
The film follows the shape of whatever is underneath, so a dent or a deep scratch will still show through it. For the best result, fix the panel first, then wrap over a clean surface. Small marks are usually fine. We will point out anything worth sorting first when we check the car.
FAQs
About Dechrome
Dechrome (Chrome Delete) involves wrapping chrome trims with premium gloss black, satin black or other finishes to achieve a cleaner and sportier appearance.
Yes. You do not have to black out everything. Plenty of owners just do the window trims, the grille, or the badges for a cleaner look. Audi, BMW and Mercedes owners ask for this a lot. Tell us which bits of chrome bother you and we will do just those.
Depends how much chrome you want gone, whether it is just the window trims, or the grille, badges and mirrors too. The more bits, and the more fiddly they are to reach, the longer it takes. We will discuss with you the timeline with you before we start, so nothing changes once your car is in. Send us photos of the parts you want done and we will come back to you.

Quotes, Booking and Aftercare
The quickest way is through WhatsApp. Send us your car model and year, what service or look you have in mind, and a few clear photos of the car or areas you want to work on.
With those details, we can give you a more accurate quotation without requiring you to visit the workshop first.

Yes. We work mainly by appointment so every car has a dedicated bay and the team can give the job the time and attention it needs.
Simply WhatsApp us to arrange a suitable slot. If you’d like to see the workshop or discuss your options before booking, you’re also welcome to visit us at 53 Ubi Ave 1, #01-35 Paya Ubi Industrial Park.
Depends on the job. We will give you a clear timeline before we start and keep you posted while it is with us. You will not be left wondering where your car is.
It’s a fair question — and one worth asking any workshop. Projectmodz has been operating from a physical workshop at 53 Ubi Ave 1, Paya Ubi Industrial Park for over 10 years.
You’re welcome to visit, see the workshop and meet the team before committing. Before any work begins, we explain the materials being used, the process, and what you can expect from the finished job.
And our support doesn’t end when you collect the car. You can reach us on WhatsApp during the project and after the job is completed. Our track record, completed builds and customer reviews are there for you to see.
For freshly installed PPF or vinyl wrap, avoid washing the car for around a week to allow the film to settle properly. After that, we recommend hand washing and avoiding automated brush car washes, which can be harsh on the film and its edges.
For window tint, allow time for the film to fully cure and avoid unnecessary contact with the glass during the initial period. If you notice any unusual lifting, bubbling or other issues after installation, bring the car back and we’ll take a look.

Our team will recommend the most suitable option based on your car, driving habits, budget and the finish you want — whether that’s vinyl wrap, coloured PPF, clear PPF or window tint.
